Mizzou softball's season ends in SEC Tournament as Auburn rallies

Missouri softball’s season is over. The Tigers fell to Auburn 6-2 in the first round of the SEC Tournament at John Cropp Stadium in Lexington, Ky. on Tuesday, finishing at 28-29 and ending their NCAA Tournament hopes.

Missouri led 2-0 heading into the sixth inning before Auburn scored six unanswered runs. Linny Ramsey misplayed a leadoff triple in left field before Stefania Abruscato committed a throwing error on a missed bunt attempt, allowing the first run to score. A wild pitch brought home another run before Auburn freshman Hannah Roebuck capped the inning with a two-run home run to left field to put Auburn ahead for good. Roebuck hadn't homered since hitting two in the season opener on March 13.
