Mizzou women’s basketball has hired former NBA staffer Brandon Joyner as the program’s director of athletic performance, the program announced in a release Tuesday.
Joyner has spent the last five years working within the Dallas Mavericks’ organization. He spent four seasons a performance coach for the team, helping it capture the 2025 Western Conference title in 2024. He then spent a year as the director of G League health and performance for the franchise.
He spent the 2021-22 season as a performance coach with the Sacramento Kings. From 2018-21, he served as the head strength and conditioning coach for the Canton Charge, the G League affiliate of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Joyner also had multiple stints working at the collegiate level. Most notably, he worked at Florida State from 2014-18 as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the men’s and women’s golf, track and field and cross country programs. During that stint, 16 of the athletes he worked with qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Joyner joins the Missouri staff as the program enters the second year under head coach Kellie Harper.
