Mizzou track & field's Sam Innes settles for 23rd at NCAA Outdoor Championships

Mizzou’s Sam Innes competes in the hammer throw during the SEC Outdoor Championships, at which he took second place. Innes competes Wednesday in the hammer in Fayetteville, Ark., as the Tigers open NCAA West First Round action.

After opening with a pair of scratches in the men's hammer throw, Mizzou senior Sam Innes settled into 23rd place with a throw of 206 feet, 8 inches Wednesday at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon. 

Though not the finish expected, as Innes entered ranked 10th in the nation, the Battle alum closed his Mizzou career on the national stage.
