Mizzou football on Wednesday changed the kickoff time for its Sept. 19 home game against Troy from 11:45 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Tigers will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Memorial Stadium in the matchup against the Trojans, Mizzou's third game of the season. The Tigers will wear throwback uniforms with the Block M decal on the helmet and gold pants during the game.
Mizzou Athletics did not offer a reason for the time change. It could be in response to the threat of extreme heat. Last season, Mizzou moved the start against Louisiana up to noon from 4 p.m. due to hot weather. Many fans left the 52-10 victory at halftime after temperatures soared above 95 degrees.
Mizzou football will now face Troy at 6 p.m. on Sept. 19 at Memorial Stadium. The game will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
New cigar box to celebrate 100th anniversary
Mizzou’s official NIL agency, Every True Tiger Brands, is partnering with Bocock Brothers and LIT Cigar Lounge to release an official line of cigars and accessories. One accessory is a commemorative box decorated with a detailed interior of Memorial Stadium. The box includes 10 cigars, with the price unknown at this time.
“Bocock Brothers are known for crafting premium cigars that celebrate the traditions and communities surrounding college athletics,” ETTB CEO Mario Moccia said in a press release. “This partnership gives adult Mizzou supporters a unique way to showcase their Tiger pride while creating a meaningful and sustainable avenue to support Mizzou student-athletes.”
The cigar box will be available for purchase online or at select Mizzou home games this season. Every True Tiger will be selling the box at its on-site tailgate located outside the north end zone complex ahead of Mizzou football’s season opener on Sept. 3 at Memorial Stadium against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
