Mizzou baseball has received a commitment from Texas transfer Jadyn Furgason, according to a report in 64 Analytics.
Furgason, a right-handed pitcher from Fenton, was rated the No. 10 pitcher in the state by Perfect Game when he was coming out of Vianney High near St. Louis. He did not pitch for an elite Longhorns staff during his freshman season. Furgason made a post on Instagram implying his commitment to the Tigers.
Furgason boasts a fastball that reaches 95 mph, a slider, a sweeper and a changeup. Listed at 6-foot-2 175 pounds, he will have four years of eligibility remaining.
Additionally, Mizzou has officially signed contracts with a round of transfers.
New hitting coach Brandon Van Horn, as well as infielders Wilfred Gonzalez, Javier Gorostola, Steve Solorzano put pen to paper on Tuesday. More transfers inked their deals with the team that same day, including pitcher Carter DeGondea and outfielders Cam Pruitt and Anthony Diaz. All signees were announced via the team’s Instagram and X accounts.
Having made progress to revamp roster, the Tigers will look to add a few more names before the portal closes on Tuesday.
Incoming freshman Caden Throneberry has decommitted from the Tigers and reopened his recruitment, he announced via X. Currently playing in the Prospect League over the summer, the left-handed outfielder boasts a .315 average, .900 OPS and 15 RBI for the Johnstown Mill Rats.
