Mizzou announced that former softball slugger Ashley Fleming has been selected into the University of Missouri Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2026 on Wednesday morning.
The news was announced to Fleming in person, with the announcement being recorded and posted to Mizzou softball's website. Former Mizzou softball pitcher Chelsea Thomas surprised Fleming, her wife and former teammate, that she had been elected.
After growing up in the small town of Silex, Fleming came to Columbia and dominated. By her senior season, Fleming was the team's top hitter, posting a .356 batting average, 14 home runs and 62 runs batted in. She received Second Team All-American honors and helped the Tigers to their third straight Women's College World Series appearance. Fleming was a Swiss Army knife for Mizzou, appearing as a first baseman, outfielder and even a pitcher.
Following her career with the Tigers, Fleming coached for two seasons at Saint Louis University as an assistant coach before taking over as the head coach of McKendree softball in 2016. In her six seasons as head coach, Fleming accumulated an overall record of 149-119.
