CC baseball caps off a dominant 3-game sweep of Central Baptist

Columbia College baseball came out with energy early, jumping to a 3-0 lead in the second inning before Central Baptist battled back to tie the game 3-3 in the third. Columbia quickly responded, regaining the lead in the bottom half and never trailing again.

A key moment came in the fourth when Tyler Renn launched a solo home run to left field to extend the lead, and the Cougars added to it in the fifth on a two-run home run from Zac Fruend. Columbia’s pitching settled in after the third, with a phenomenal performance from Eric Fields, who held Central Baptist scoreless over the final six innings and shut down multiple scoring threats, including a bases-loaded opportunity in the fourth.
