Republicans unveil budget resolution allotting up to $140 billion for ICE, CBP

(The Center Square) – U.S. Senate Republicans released a blueprint for their immigration enforcement funding bill Tuesday, paving the way to reopen the Department of Homeland Security, which has been shut down for 67 days.

The budget resolution directs the congressional Judiciary and Homeland Security committees to craft a budget reconciliation bill – a filibuster-proof vehicle for advancing federal spending – that pledges annual funds to ICE and U.S. Border Patrol for the next 3.5 years.

(The Center Square) – The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday ruled for a second and final time in favor of Texas’ redistricting law, effectively ending all challenges to the state's new congressional maps. This was after the high court chastised district court judges in El Paso for their handling of the case and blocked their ruling from going into effect, The Center Square reported.
